A CHURCH of England vicar who wrote on his internet blog that gay men should be forced to have “sodomy” warnings tattooed on their bodies issued a “full and complete” apology for his remarks yesterday.
The Rev Peter Mullen, 66, of London, admitted his “injudicious” remarks had offended people.
He said he had meant no offence with what he called his “joking remarks”.
Followed Comments:
1: Nice to see a man of the cloth with the courage of his convictions as usual.
Would a non dog-collar wearer be awaiting a plod interview for inciting hate?
2:Has the Anglican reverend been taking inspiration from the Bishop of Motherwell’s mockery of gays attending Holocaust memorial services, expressed in his St Aloysius speech earlier this year?
One wonders how much lower the leaders of Britain’s Christians can sink in their eternal quest to vilify gay people. And they wonder why the pews are emptying.
3:I’m amazed at relatively educated men saying the silliest of things-as though they are driven to it. However, I think that many a true word is said in jest; the good reverand really is a homophobe and is hiding behind (?) joking remarks.
4:People in glass houses alert!!!!
What about vicars and choirboys…….???
5:To Maisie. I think you will find that’s Catholics, not COE.
6:It’s not homosexuals that should be tattooed, it is pædophiles and other assorted p e r v e r t s, rapists and the like that should have their particular perversions tattooed on their foreheads.
